Community Health Needs Assessment

The 2010 Affordable Care Act requires that all 501(c)(3) hospitals conduct a community health needs assessment (CHNA) every three years. A CHNA is a developmental process that describes the state of health of local people, enables the identification of the major risk factors and causes of ill health, and enables the identification of the actions needed to address current problems.

The requirements state that the first CHNA must be completed during the first tax year following March 2011.

Evans Research can help with every step along the way of your CHNA, or with individual parts, and with consultation to help your team do its best job of fulfilling IRS requirements.
